Hi! I’m Nicola Chamberlain and I’m a relationship manager at Thrive. I’ve been working in mental health for eight years now, helping businesses implement mental health initiatives as part of their wider strategy and wellbeing plans.
I absolutely love my job! I also have a side crochet business which really helps me to channel my creativity, as well as support my own mental wellbeing.
Although statistically, women are still significantly underrepresented in leadership roles, I have been surrounded by strong, inspirational, female leaders throughout my entire career, so I’ve never been short of female role models or strong female-led businesses at all.
This International Women’s Day is all about breaking the bias and celebrating and valuing our differences. As a gay, neurodiverse woman I strive to be an inspirational leader, not just in the mental health world, but also in my respective communities.
This blog forms part of a series on International Women's Day. To learn about the history of this celebration, and why we still need it in 2022, click here.
